Hands-on family video restoration

FrameRevive

Start without an account Free sample review

Show us one difficult family clip or tell us what is on the tape. We diagnose the source and restore a short sample when suitable before you approve a full quote.

Source diagnosis

We read the damage before promising 4K

Old tapes fail in recognizable ways: tracking tears, color drift, dropouts, interlacing, low-light noise, and soft faces. The sample review marks the problems first, then decides how far restoration can honestly go.

What we look for

Not every blur is the same problem.

A family tape can look bad for five different reasons at once. We separate the defects so the restoration does not over-sharpen faces, crush color, or invent fake texture.

Damaged VHS source
  1. 01tracking tearThe lower edge bends and wobbles when the tape loses stable tracking.
  2. 02color driftThe image loses neutral whites and skin moves toward muddy yellow-green.
  3. 03dropout scratchBrief white tears appear where the magnetic signal falls out.
Tracking drift, chroma bleed, dropout scratches, and soft faces are marked before choosing the restoration strength.

Restoration services

For families with boxes of tapes, camcorder files, and old memories

Every project starts with a technical read of resolution, interlace, compression, motion, flicker, noise, and whether a 4K-style upscale will help or hurt.

Video Restoration Service

FrameRevive helps families make difficult old video sources cleaner, steadier, and easier to watch without losing the memory.

AI Video Upscaling

Upscale is useful only when the source can support it. We test the footage before choosing Full HD, 2K, or 4K.

VHS Video Restoration

Send a digitized VHS transfer for a free sample. We repair tape defects and choose the most natural HD delivery without erasing the character of the recording.

Hi8, Video8, and MiniDV Restoration

Old camcorder tapes can hold more usable motion and color than a rough transfer suggests. We test the source before deciding how far cleanup and upscale should go.

Mail-In VHS Restoration Review

Do not mail an irreplaceable tape without a plan. Tell us what you have first, then we confirm handling, transfer, restoration, and return details in writing.

DVD and Disc Video Restoration

Old family DVDs can look soft, blocky, interlaced, or washed out on modern screens. Upload the best file from the disc and start with a free restored sample.

Deinterlacing and Motion Repair

Interlaced footage needs to be rebuilt before modern restoration. Otherwise, combing artifacts become sharper and more visible.

Video Noise and Flicker Cleanup

Noise cleanup should calm the image while preserving real faces, fabric, background detail, and the original feel of the footage.

Wedding Video Restoration

Wedding footage deserves a careful pass because faces, ceremony moments, speeches, and motion all matter.

Family Video Restoration

Family videos do not need to look like a movie. They need to become easier to watch while keeping the memory honest.

Upscale policy

We test 4K, but we do not fake detail for the sake of a label

Some family archives can support a beautiful HD or 4K delivery. Others look more honest at 1080p with cleaner motion and better color. The sample tells us which is true.
